About Mr. Gallagher

Justin Gallagher holds a degree in Multimedia Performing Arts from Lehman College with a concentration in theater. Gallagher was raised in the beautiful mountains of Northeast Georgia where his love for theatre began. It was with a teacher and friend, Paula Gibson, who gave him his first assistant directing opportunities in educational theatre, which later would become a life-changing journey of artistic expression. After high school, Gallagher was accepted into the Integrated Musical Theatre program at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York where he studied under Broadway and film professionals. At AMDA, he trained in acting, musical theatre, ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre dance, individual voice, and voice production and speech.

Since moving to New York City in 2011, Gallagher has directed a variety of shows at various theatre festivals including Comfort Woman (Secret Theatre/Manhattan Repertory), Bella Napoli (Secret Theatre/Workshop Theatre/Manhattan Repertory), The Wonderful World of Science (Manhattan Repertory), and Family Dynamics, which was nominated for Best Play in the 2018 New York Theatre Festival.

Other directing and assistant directing credits include Annie Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., The Wizard of Oz (MUNY and RSC versions) Alice in Wonderland, & Seussical Jr.

The musical, Bloody, Bloody, Andrew Jackson at the Nuyorican Poets Café marked Gallagher's 2013 New York City acting debut with the 5th Floor Theatre Company, where he portrayed Lyncoya Jackson, the adopted son of Andrew.  Regional credit includes Disney’s High School Musical 2: Live on Stage (Teen Ensemble Alternate/ World Premiere/TOTS/Fox Theatre Atlanta under Tony Nominated director, Jeff Calhoun). Gallagher can be seen in Drew Seeley’s “Feels So Much Better to Love” Christmas music video, which made its YouTube debut in 2017 reaching over seven thousand viewers.

He is grateful to have worked briefly on Broadway with Disney's The Lion King as a sub-child guardian for the Simba and Nala cubs.

Justin is currently a member of the renowned MasterVoices choir and has performed in The Frogs with Nathan Lane (Lincoln Center), The Grapes of Wrath (Carnegie Hall), and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers in Concert (Radio City Music Hall), Strike Up the Band with Victoria Clark at Carnegie Hall, & The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (Radio City Music Hall).

Gallagher plans to write two new musicals, Little Boy J and She Sings... (Which has been a show 18 years in the making). Justin currently resides in Manhattan with his adorable mini English Cream Dachshund, Willow.
